CP3108B - Mozilla (Independent Work)

Sometime back, I recieved an email regarding a module offered “CP3108B - Mozilla (Independent Work)”. I instantly felt like thats the module for me. Many “normal” modules felt too accademic (lacks practicality) to me. Here I will learn more practical skills like working on an Open Source project (Mozilla Firefox for me), developing extensions to entend its functionality. I will also be documenting my progress here (tagged mozilla), and be on IRC to help other developers in need. Not such a great IRC fan yet though, but will see how it will turn out. It feels like obselete technology by now.

I decided to work on a Screen Capture/Inspiration Gallery/Annotations type extension for Web Developers/Designers (but I imagine others can find it useful too). I am currently working on my Project Proposal also weighting the pros & cons of using JetPack vs XUL. I prefer to use the latest technology (JetPack), but I read XUL is more powerful … also the tutors use XUL I believe and I think if I choose JetPack it maybe harder to get help.

Anyone has any thoughts leave a comment here. Hopefully I can post the draft proposal by tommorow, for your comments :)
